The MBE 4000 is an in-line six-cylinder engine with ratings available from 350 - 450 horsepower and up to 1,550 LB FT of torque. Weighing just 2,117 lbs., this is a heavy-duty engine designed for regional distribution, vocational, and bulk-haul applications.

Currently featured in Freightliner's Business Class M2 112, Columbia and Century Class S/T, key features of the MBE 4000 include: Extended service intervals for the lube, fuel and cooling system, reducing costs and downtime Maximum torque at low engine speed for excellent acceleration and reduced shifting. Over 500 braking horsepower is available for maximum safety and reduced maintenance costs, especially in “tough-on-the-brakes” stop and go applications.
